Youth Grant & Mentorship Program – opportunity to have your entire folk high school stay covered: Are you a Danish citizen between 17½ and 29 without an upper secondary education? Do you have a vocational education? We have a fund that supports Danish citizens with vocational education attending a folk high school. If you belong to this target group, you can receive a substantial subsidy toward your personal payment. Pitstop – get a discount of 6,000–9,200 DKK Are you a Danish citizen and currently pursuing a higher education — and do you need a thinking break or a refreshing pause? Then you can receive a subsidy to take a break from your studies at a folk high school.. As a Pitstop student, you receive a weekly discount of 400 DKK. Read more Apply HERE
The Realm’s Folk High School Scholarship – up to 14,000 DKK discount:
If you are Greenlandic, Faroese, or equivalent, and between 18 and 25 years old, you can apply for the Realm’s Folk High School Scholarship for a stay at a folk high school in Denmark. The scholarship provides a discount of 700 DKK per week.

What is covered in the weekly price?
- Inspiring teaching by skilled professionals in a creative and welcoming environment
- Double room / triple room
- Full board (all meals included from our amazing ecological kitchen)
- Student initiatives that can be financed by our activity fund
- Day trips and project week
Additional payment:
- Materials Every student pays 1500 dkk in metarial fees which covers all classes while you are here.
- Admission fee When you sign up for the folk high school, there is a registration fee of DKK 1,500. As part of the fee, you’ll receive a folk high school hoodie and the official songbook when your stay begins. Your spot is only confirmed once the registration fee has been paid. Please note that the fee is non-refundable in case of cancellation.
- Room deposit: There is a room deposit of DKK 135€ which you get back when the room is handed over in good condition at the end of your stay.
- The Study trip: .The study trip is included in the weekly price. You must expect to bring approx. 1500 dkk for pocket money. When you are on a study trip, your room is available to other students during the week you are away.
- Cancellation: If you cancel your high school stay, you will pay 4 weeks of tuition fees in addition to the week you unsubscribe. If the stay is interrupted, the joint study trip will also be paid.
- Single room: If you want a single room, there is a supplement of 40€ a week.
