Schedule & Classes
Which subjects are available?
We offer more than 20 different subjects for you to choose from. You will find everything from practical subjects like Perma Culture to more socially oriented subjects like sociology. You will put together your own schedule once you arrive at the school.

Do I need prior experience with the subjects?
Not at all. For a few subjects, prior experience can be an advantage, but the most important thing is your curiosity and desire to learn.
How do I put together my schedule?
At the beginning of the intro week, we will introduce all the subjects, and afterwards, we will help you put together your very own dream schedule.

How many subjects can or must I choose per week?
You can take up to three core subjects. In addition, you can choose elective subjects A, B, and C. Midway through your stay, you will also have the opportunity to switch subjects, allowing you to dive into even more interests.
Can I use the workshops (e.g., ceramics or film) in my free time and during the weekends?
Yes, you are more than welcome to use the workshops outside of classes. However, to use the ceramics workshop, you must be enrolled in the ceramics course.
Who teaches the classes?
We have dedicated and skilled folk high school teachers. For each individual subject, you can see who teaches it, and under “Employees” you will find an overview of the entire teaching staff.
Life at Højskolen Mors
What does a typical day look like at Højskolen Mors?
No two days at the folk high school are exactly the same, but we start every morning with a communal breakfast followed by a morning assembly. The morning assembly is an important folk high school tradition, where we sing from the Folk High School Songbook and start the day together.
After that, classes begin, and we have lunch at 12:00. After lunch, the day's classes continue into the afternoon. In the evening, there is free time, community, and dinner at 18:00."
What is the accommodation like at the folk high school?
You can choose to stay in either a single, double, or triple room. The school has three student houses: Dalen, Bakken, and Bjerget.
In each student house, you will find a large common room with a kitchen, newly renovated bathroom facilities, and a laundry room. There are approximately 10 rooms in each house.
If you prefer a gender-segregated or gender-neutral room, we will of course accommodate that. Just state your preference when you register.
What is the food like at the folk high school?
Every day, our wonderful kitchen serves tasty meals with a focus on quality, health, and local ingredients. We offer high-quality meat for those who want it, and we use vegetables from our own permaculturegarden, among other things.
Does the school accommodate special dietary needs (e.g., vegetarian, vegan, or allergies)?
Yes, of course. The kitchen offers both vegetarian and vegan alternatives, as well as accommodation for allergies. We just ask that you let us know in advance so the kitchen can plan accordingly.
What do you do on the weekends?
Weekends at the folk high school can look very different. Here are some of the things the students spend their time on:
- Creative projects in the art or woodworking workshop
- Parties and events in the student bar with changing themes
- Relaxation and a trip to the warm water pool
- Walks in the beautiful nature or a dip in the Limfjord
- Cozy hangouts, board games, movies, and spontaneous activities with friends
And your friends are more than welcome to visit!It is always wonderful to have visitors and always a huge success. Your friends just need to pay a small fee to cover the cost of mealsat the school.

How do I apply for your folk high school scholarship, and who is eligible?
You can apply for our folk high school scholarship if you dream of a folk high school stay but have limited financial means. There are certain criteria for applying for the scholarship, which you can read more about here.
Am I too old to go to the folk high school?
No, we believe that you don't need to be a certain age to go to a folk high school. The only requirement is that you must be at least 17.5 years old at the start of your stay.
What is 'Pitstop', and can I use it at your school?
Yes, you can absolutely be a 'pitstopper' at Højskolen Mors Pitstop is for those who are currently enrolled in a higher education program and need a break from their studies. A folk high school stay can provide new motivation, inspiration, and clarity regarding your choice of study. It can also be an opportunity to strengthen your interests if you are considering changing your field of study.

Practical information
Are there international students at the folk high school?
Yes. In each term, we have 10-15 international students who are a part of the community throughout their stay.
This creates a special global community where cultural exchange and new perspectives become a part of everyday life.
How do I get to the folk high school?
There are several options for getting to Højskolen Mors:
Flight: Aalborg Airport
Train: Snedsted Station
Bus: Nykøbing Mors Bus Terminal
As a student, you have access to the school's cars and the folk high school bus, which are used for trips to the station and other practical errands, among other things. If you wish to use the cars for private purposes, this is possible for a small rental fee.
What should I bring, and what is already provided in the rooms?
It can be difficult to figure out what to pack for a folk high school stay. That is why we have made a recommended packing list, which you can find here.
In the room, you will already find a bed, a wardrobe, a desk, a pillow, a duvet, a mirror, a roller blind, and hangers in the wardrobe.
If you want more hangers, we recommend that you bring your own.
Can I do laundry at the school?
Yes. Each student house has its own washing machine and tumble dryer, which you are free to use. Washing and drying your clothes is free of charge during your stay.
