The subject Screenwriter is for those who want to immerse themselves in storytelling and develop their skills within film and TV. You will work with scripts for short films, feature films, and series, and gain insight into the entire creative process behind strong storytelling.

What will you learn in the screenwriting course?

You will gain practical tools to:

• Develop ideas for films and TV series
• Write scripts from idea to finished product
• Build scenes, dramaturgy, and narrative arcs
• Create believable characters and strong dialogue
• Understand what makes a story suitable for film production

The course is for both those who have experience with screenwriting and those who have never tried it before. At Højskolen Mors, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills as a screenwriter in a creative and supportive environment.

The teaching focuses on writing scripts for film and TV series, and you spend most of your time writing and developing your own ideas. At the same time, you receive ongoing feedback from the instructor and collaborate with other students at the folk high school.

You work both individually on smaller screenwriting projects and in groups, where you develop ideas for new films and series together – perhaps the next big streaming series.

You can combine the screenwriting course with Film Production at Højskolen Mors. Selected scripts are turned into films, giving you the opportunity to see your own stories realized in practice.

You can also combine with the subjects Documentary & Video Art and work with other forms of visual storytelling.
