Permaculture Certificate

Permaculture Certificate at Højskolen Mors

From idea to sustainable design – with a certificate to show for it

Do you dream of growing your own food, creating living gardens and living closer to nature? In the elective Permaculture Certificate you gain both the hands-on experience and the understanding it takes – and you finish the course with a certificate.

The subject is for you if you want to go further than trying out permaculture. You learn to think in whole systems, where soil, water, plants, animals and people work together.

What will you learn?

Teaching alternates between theory in the classroom and practical work in the school's gardens and surroundings. You get the tools to observe a site, analyse it and turn it into a well-considered design.

Among other things, you will work with:

  • The ethics and design principles of permaculture
  • Soil improvement, compost and healthy soil biology
  • Water, climate and microclimate in the landscape
  • Forest gardens, perennial crops and companion planting
  • Designing sustainable gardens and systems – from sketch to plan

A course with a concrete result

Along the way you develop your own design project and present it to the group. The project brings together what you have learned and forms part of the basis for your certificate. You leave with a documented course you can use in your future work – privately, in a community or professionally.

Combine with Permaculture and Botany

The certificate combines well with subjects such as Permaculture and wild food and Botany for beginners, giving your stay both deep plant knowledge and everyday life in the garden.

Oso Souki Bracho

Oso Souki Bracho

Teacher in Permaculture & wild food

Since Oso attended his first Permaculture course over 20 years ago, his heart has been dedicated to ecology, green energy, self-sufficiency, and local produce.
Oso lived in Copenhagen for several years but realized that from his small apartment, he couldn’t do enough for the climate – sorting waste simply wasn’t enough! So, Oso and his family moved to Mors, where they started their own organic, sustainable farm based on permaculture principles. Oso is therefore an expert at teaching permaculture in a practical, hands-on way, helping others create sustainable systems from the ground up.

Oso is passionate about motivating the high school's students to live more sustainably and to create a food culture at Højskolen Mors that contributes positively to the climate, the environment and the green transition.
