Wood workshop at Højskolen Mors

Do you want to work with traditional woodworking craftsmanship and the green building techniques of the future? In this folk high school course on Mors, we combine classic craft skills with circular construction methods – all with a focus on natural materials, recycling, and common sense. Whether you dream of learning the basic principles of carpentry or want to immerse yourself in creative woodworking, we provide the perfect setting for creating with your hands.

Summer: Climate-friendly construction

During the summer, we move outdoors and work hands-on with sustainable building methods. Surrounded by the beautiful nature of Mors, we explore resource-conscious construction techniques in practice.

Through practical work with locally sourced wood and recycled materials, you gain concrete insight into how we can build in a more climate-friendly and resource-aware way. It is craftsmanship with consideration for the environment, set in the unique surroundings of the Limfjord.

Winter: Woodcraft & Traditional Techniques

When the temperature drops, we move indoors to the folk high school’s woodworking workshop and immerse ourselves in traditional woodcraft. You will learn to work with classic hand tools such as planes, axes, saws, and drawknives at the carving and planing bench. We explore the natural properties of wood and how to select the best materials directly from the forest, garden, or local sawmill. Throughout the winter season, you can create your own projects – ranging from functional everyday objects to artistic woodwork pieces.

Oso Souki Bracho

Teacher in Woodworking Workshop

Since Oso attended his first Permaculture course over 20 years ago, his heart has been dedicated to ecology, green energy, self-sufficiency, and local produce.
Oso lived in Copenhagen for several years but realized that from his small apartment, he couldn’t do enough for the climate – sorting waste simply wasn’t enough! So, Oso and his family moved to Mors, where they started their own organic, sustainable farm based on permaculture principles. Oso is therefore an expert at teaching permaculture in a practical, hands-on way, helping others create sustainable systems from the ground up.

Oso is passionate about motivating the high school's students to live more sustainably and to create a food culture at Højskolen Mors that contributes positively to the climate, the environment and the green transition.
